The group meets regularly between 9.15 & 10.45 a.m. on a Thursday at the Tremough Campus. This can be reached from Redruth & Truro by reaching Treluswell roundabout (on the Falmouth to Redruth Road) then taking the Helston Road: at the next roundabout keep left back into Penryn and after 2 hundred yards the entrance is on the right. Follow the internal road by bearing right twice, go through the barriers, head straight up turn left at the top of the road and head for Car Parks F and K ahead of you pass the trees. The Sports Hall is on the left in the G car park. Go in and the receptionist will inform where to go.. From Falmouth take the bypass road to Asda pass that and at the next roundabout complex keep right for Penryn and at the Campus entrance on the right follow the above route in to the Sports Hall. If you wish to play just turn up on the day, or contact me (Eric Rabjohns, Group Leader – see above)

We are an enthusiastic and friendly bunch, who welcome new members. You do not have to be a seasoned badminton pro to join just  fit enough to play and keen.  Equipment wise just standard wear for sport i.e. no embellishments that might prove a danger to you or other members! Although trainers etc must not have a sole that marks the floor surface ( black ones being the main culprits). We do have spare rackets if you wish to have a try.

The first photo shows the two courts we play on; very modern and of top quality. Last Christmas time we had a Knockout Shuttle-cockers Tournament. The second photo shows the finalists, Adrian and Les against Roger and Terry. The latter pair winning.

Our Croquet group meets Tuesday mornings 10:00 till 12:00 and Thursday afternoons  2:00 till 4:00, from the beginning of April until the end of September.

Please arrive 15 minutes before start times and make sure
you’re checked in, to allow a prompt 10:00 / 2.00 O’clock start.

Croquet is great fun, easy to learn but hard to master, if that’s even possible, and is one of our most popular groups. New members are most welcome, no equipment is needed as spare mallets are available. 

If you fancy a game or would like more information just give us a call or if you prefer you can just come along to a session, if so please arrive a few minutes early and make yourself known to us to allow us to make a prompt start.

PETANQUE 1 Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth John & Janet Bishop 01872 862949

Around 38/40 members met on the beach for our bi monthly
game  of Petanque to enjoy the game and chat.  The weather had just
turned slightly cooler and with gentle breeze now and again,  it was a
perfect morning. See the photos above.

There is always laughter to be heard along with the
“Good shot”  remarks and general chat amongst the teams.
Half time for coffee then we try and fit another game in.  It is a
friendly group and any member is welcome to join us there on the 1st and 3rd
Monday in the month.  We play all year round at Gylly beach where you
might have seen us if you happen to walk by.

Our short tennis group meet on Friday mornings throughout the year at Tremough Campus, University sports hall.
